Private car or minibus rental with driver

Luxury: 8,000 B+ a day (about 230 $+)

At this level you’re looking at beachfront resort rooms in Kamala, Surin or Bang Tao, private airport and daily transfers rather than shared transport, fine dining, and private or small-group tours — a chartered longtail or speedboat rather than a shared island-hopping trip, for instance. There’s effectively no ceiling above this tier once villas, private yacht charters and multi-day liveaboard diving trips enter the picture, so treat 8,000 B as a realistic floor for “luxury,” not a cap.

The costs first-timers consistently forget

National park and site entrance fees. Similan and other national parks charge separate entry fees on top of any tour price, often payable in cash on arrival and sometimes at a different rate for foreign visitors than for Thai nationals. Scooter security deposits and insurance gaps.
